What is the best material for a UTV windshield? ›

Windshields made from polycarbonate rank as the strongest choice by a healthy margin.

That's why we love how lightweight polycarbonate windshields are. Acrylic is good for some things, but it can't hold a candle to polycarbonate when it comes to UTV windshields—especially once you add our scratch-resistant XR Optic Hard Coating.

Good product for plastic. I use it on my UTV plastic windshield. It takes a little elbow grease to get the haze to go away but it seems like it will last awhile and not harm the plastic.

The very first thing to note is that you should never use glass or window cleaners like Windex on your UTV's windshield. The windshields on UTVs are made of durable polycarbonate material and are not made of glass.

With windscreens, you must consider the wind loading at speed which can cause the screen to flex and vibrate, so we would always recommend 6.1mm on cars running high speeds with big or fairly flat windscreens. We recommend dropping to 5.1mm on smaller saloons and hatchbacks.
