What’s New at Walt Disney World Theme Parks in 2024

EPCOT

EPCOT has been undergoing a years-long reimagining, which has reshaped the theme park into new lands – including the addition of World Celebration, which debuted in 2023. In 2024, even more new lands (or neighborhoods, as they’re officially called) will become filled with attractions and entertainment.

In 2024, guests should look out for the new CommuniCore Hall, CommuniCore Plaza, and a Mickey and Friends meet and greet. The opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza are the most exciting new happenings at EPCOT in 2024. This new area will serve as a festival hub, similar to the Festival Pavilion of years past. Here, guests can experience concerts, cooking demonstrations, galleries, and more.

Additionally, near CommuniCore Hall, guests will also be able to meet Mickey and Friends at a newly announced meet and greet location. More information is still to come surrounding this exciting change!

Hollywood Studios

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a few beloved attractions are getting a bit of a makeover. First, Star Wars fans will be excited to learn Star Tours is changing early 2024; the beloved ride will get a story update to include new characters from within the Star Wars universe. Keep your eyes peeled for Ahsoka to join in on the fun!

Additionally, a staple at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is changing. Voyage of the Little Mermaid has been a staple show within the theme park since 1992 – but it’s been closed for the past four years, leaving guests wondering what’s happening to the beloved mermaid. Well, in 2024, the show will be revamped and reopened as “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.”

Magic Kingdom Park

Some of the biggest and most exciting new additions of 2024 are taking place at Magic Kingdom! Both Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and a reimagined, updated version of Country Bear Jamboree are set to open this year.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Though the opening date for the highly anticipated Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is still yet to be announced, this is a highly anticipated opening for 2024. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will replace he popular Splash Mountain attraction, taking guests on a journey with Tiana and Louis as she gets ready for a big celebration. Construction is currently well underway at Magic Kingdom (and moving fast!). Want to see some of the progress? Hop on the Walt Disney World Railroad for an aerial view.

Country Bear Jamboree

Our favorite Country Bears are headed back into town with an all new-act. That’s right, the Country Bear Jamboree is getting a bit of a fix up in 2024 with the removal of some classic songs and the addition of some brand new songs. More details, including an exact opening date for the new version of the show, are still to come.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Are you a fan of “It’s Tough to Be a Bug?” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom? Unfortunately, this opening day attraction will be replaced in 2024 with a Zootopia-themed show. No specific dates have been announced just yet, but you’ll want to catch the original show while you still can!
