A Fort Worth man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly called an FBI agent earlier this week and left messages threatening to kill the agent and his family due to the agent’s involvement in the Hunter Biden laptop investigation, according to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Timothy Muller, 43, was arrested outside his home without incident and charged with interstate threatening communications and influencing, impeding or retaliating against a federal official. According to federal court documents, Muller allegedly placed a call to the Baltimore-based FBI agent around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The release said the agent participated in the investigation into a laptop belonging to “H.B.” and said Muller placed the call shortly after news outlets reported “H.B.’s” conviction on federal gun charges.

Hunter Biden was convicted Tuesday of federal gun crimes after a weeklong trial in Delaware.

According to court documents, Muller said “Hey” and said the agent’s first name before the agent disconnected the call. Muller allegedly called back and left a 1-minute, 5-second, expletive-filled voicemail. Muller allegedly threatened the agent and his family, and said if “T” won “re-election,” “we” would start arresting FBI agents, court documents said.

In the message, Muller accused the agent of covering up “child p*rnography” and crimes allegedly committed by Hunter Biden. He then said “[T’s] going to win the re-election, and we’re going to [expletive] go through the FBI and start throwing you [expletive] in jail,” court documents said.

“Or, you can steal another election, and then the guns will come out, and we’ll hunt you [expletive] down and slaughter you like the traitorous dogs you are in your own [expletive] homes,” Muller allegedly said in the voicemail.

Muller then threatened to kill the agent’s wife and children and lynch them, according to court documents.

The documents go on to say Muller sent several text messages to the agent’s FBI-issued cellphone about an hour later. In the messages, Muller again threatened the agent’s family and said the agent was “covering up for pedophiles” and was “going to jail,” the documents said.

“Did you [expletive] really think you were going to disenfranchise 75 million Americans and not die?” Muller allegedly texted the FBI agent.

According to the court documents, the FBI agent was named in open source reports describing his involvement in an FBI Baltimore investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop. The New York Post first reported on a recovered laptop alleged to have been owned by Hunter Biden a few weeks prior to the 2020 presidential election. The Post’s initial story, published Oct. 14, 2020, presented emails said to have been pulled from the laptop which alleged corruption by Biden’s father, Joe Biden, while he was vice president.

According to the Post, the FBI seized the laptop from a Delaware computer shop owner after the shop owner said Hunter Biden dropped the laptop off for repairs and never recovered it. Recently, the laptop was introduced as evidence in Hunter Biden’s trial on federal gun charges, according to CNN.

Court documents said FBI agents were able to obtain Muller’s cellphone records through the phone number he used to contact the agent, and found the call records matched the calls the agent received on Tuesday. Agents also found an Instagram account belonging to Muller and matched his voice through a video posted to the account, the documents said.

According to court documents, federal public defender Eduardo Carranza was appointed to represent Muller. The release said if convicted, Muller faces up to 10 years in federal prison.
