Druids are perhaps one of the most unique, and fun, classes to play in Baldur's Gate 3. With a nice array of creatures to pick from when deciding to Wild Shape, there's plenty of versatility in their play style. Despite having a fairly linear progression between levels one to twelve, there are a few opportunities to learn one of the 41 feats on offer at levels four, eight, and twelve, which can seriously elevate the Druid class.

Baldur's Gate 3: Best Druid Class Build

The Druid class in BG3 can shapeshift into different animals, and the Circle of the Moon Druid build amps up Wild Shape's damage and party utility.

Picking the right feat when leveling up is a feat in and of itself, and taking the wrong feat can be a massive missed opportunity. Here are some of the best Feats for a Druid in Baldur's Gate 3.

Updated on May 29, 2024 by Kristy Ambrose: Baldur's Gate 3's build variety allows players to create a wide assortment of Druid types, and a great Feat for one character could be useless to another. To reflect this versatility, a few more of BG3's best Feats for Druids have been added to this discussion.

12 Athlete

Jump Further, Hit Harder

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (2)
  • Grants a 50% increase to jump distance, allows 50% less movement speed to get up after being knocked prone, and +1 to Strength and Dexterity.

Athlete is a solid pick when deciding which feat to take, granting a 50% increase to jump distance, which can be a game changer whilst Wild Shaped. The extra distance can be vital in allowing a Druid to soar above minions and reach the primary target during a fight. It also allows a Druid to use 50% less movement speed when getting up after being knocked prone, which is a nice little bonus.

The +1 bonus to Strength or Dexterity may not be particularly useful for Druids who typically spend most of their time in their Wild Shape form because they will assume the stats of whatever beast they have chosen in battle. The extra jumping distance alone makes this an excellent feat for any Druid.

11 Sentinel

For Melee Fighters And Defenders

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (3)
  • Use a Reaction to attack an enemy that attacks an ally in melee range, possibly rendering the target immobile for the rest of the turn, and gain Advantage on Opportunity attacks.

This Feat comes in three parts: Vengeance, Snare, and Opportunity Advantage. Vengeance allows the Druid to use a Reaction to attack an enemy within melee range that attacks one of their allies. After that, Snare has a chance to render that enemy immobile and gives the Druid Opportunity Advantage on their attacks.

Baldur's Gate 3: 12 Best Feats For Fighters, Ranked

Fighters in Baldur's Gate 3 receive more feats that most other classes, and as such, have more options for how to shape their builds.

It sounds too good to be true, and the one disadvantage to this Feat is that its effectiveness is limited to melee builds. Another drawback is that it can only be used to aid friendly targets that don't have the Sentinel feat themselves.

10 Mobile

Increase Mobility Even On Difficult Terrain

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (5)
  • Grants a 10ft bonus to movement speed, allows the player to ignore difficult terrain after using the Dash Action.

Mobile is generally a great feat to learn for any class, but Druids will get great use out of this, particularly when opting for Wild Shapes that have a hefty amount of movement speed already. This feat grants a 10ft bonus to movement speed and allows Druids to ignore difficult terrain after taking the Dash action.

Similar to the Athlete feat, this provides excellent versatility in combat and allows a Wild-Shaped Druid to move into tactically advantageous positions with ease. This is not a feat to be missed for any Druid opting for front-line fighting.

9 Magic Initiate: Cleric

Learn Additional Spells For Support And Healing

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (6)
  • Allows a Druid to learn two additional cantrips from the Cleric spell list and one first-level spell.

The Magic Initiate feat is a great way to expand a Druid's spell library, especially into areas that may not typically be available through regular-level progression. It's important to remember that the spellcasting ability for chosen spells will be the same as whichever their parent class uses, meaning Druid or Cleric are the best options here. That usually means healing and support spells, but Clerics have some wicked DPS abilities depending on the Domain choice.

All Baldur's Gate 3 Cleric Subclasses, Ranked

The Cleric Class in Baldur's Gate 3 channels divine power from their god, and each subclass represents a different divine domain they can draw from.

Magic Initiate has several different options, such as Warlock and Bard, but the best choice is Cleric because this class also has a high Wisdom score. The Feat will not provide any benefit when Wild Shaped, so this is geared more towards Druids who are acting as backline spellcasters.

8 Ability Score Improvement

Better Core Skills And Stats

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (8)
  • Can be used to improve one or two of the six core Ability scores.

Ability Score Improvement is a staple of leveling up in both Baldur's Gate 3 and Dungeons and Dragons. This feat is geared towards Druids who will be making the most of their spells, either offensively or as a support, as a Druid will take on the statistics of their chosen form when in Wild Shape, rendering this feat a little underwhelming for Druids who prefer front line fighting.

This feat can be used to improve one or two of the six core skills. Typically as a Druid Wisdom and Constitution will be the most important skills, so it's best to either increase one of these skills by two, or both of them by one. Wisdom will increase the player's spell save difficulty and Constitution will provide a nice bonus to concentration saving throws and overall health.

7 Heavily Armored

Toughen Resolve With Heavy Armor

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (9)
  • Grants a +1 bonus to Strength and proficiency with Heavy Armor

By default, Druids have proficiency with Light Armor, Medium Armor, and Shields. Whilst not as squishy as Sorcerers or Wizards, they could always use a little bonus to their Armor Class which will make them harder to hit.

Baldur's Gate 3: The Unwritten Rules of Playing a Druid Explained

Among Baldur's Gate 3's classes, Druids are most in tune with the natural world, meaning there are some unwritten rules associated with this class.

This feat grants a +1 bonus to Strength, and grants proficiency with Heavy Armor, making this a great feat for the Druid who is typically fighting outside of their Wild Shape form. Unfortunately, the Strength bonus will not be applied to the Wild Shape form, as the Druid will take on the physical statistics of their chosen form, but it's a great way to increase their survivability when knocked out of their Wild Shape.

6 Savage Attacker

Excellent For Any Melee Build

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (11)
  • Roll your damage dice twice and use the highest result when attacking with melee weapons.

Savage Attacker is ideal for melee DPS classes or defenders, and the Druid can take either role, but it should be noted that this Feat only applies when attacking with melee weapons. It can't be used if the Driud is using Claws or other Wild Shape abilities.

Druids with melee builds, especially those that can equip weapons like Halbreds or dual-wield items like scimitars, would benefit the most from this Feat because they do the most damage with close-range weapons in the first place. Savage Attacker allows them to potentially double that already generous amount.

5 Lucky

Rest Easy And Avoid Attack Blows

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (12)
  • Grants the character 3 Luck Points which can be spent to gain Advantage rolls on ability checks, saving throws, or attack rolls.

Lucky is one of the most powerful feats that any class can take, and it's a great choice for Druids. This feat grants 3 Luck Points that replenish after a long rest, which can be spent to gain an advantage on ability checks, saving throws, or attack rolls.

What's more, it can force an enemy to reroll an attack roll, which can be vital in combat, and prevent a killing blow. To make this even more compelling, Lucky works whilst Wild Shaped, as of Patch 5, making this an excellent choice to prolong a Wild Shape during combat.

4 War Caster

Maintain Spell Concentration In Critical Fights

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (13)
  • grants advantage on Concentration saving throws, also allows Druids to cast Shocking Grasp as a reaction.

War Caster is a top-tier feat for any spellcaster in Baldur's Gate 3, but for Druids, it interacts in fascinating ways with the Wild Shape ability. War Caster grants advantage on Concentration saving throws even while they're Wild Shaped. It also allows Druids to cast Shocking Grasp as a reaction instead of making a typical opportunity attack.

This feat provides a serious boon to Druids, both in their humanoid form and Wild Shape. Advantage on Concentration saving throws might sound a little underwhelming at first, but this allows a Druid to cast a buff spell on themselves, like Haste, Stoneskin, or Enlarge, and then enter Wild Shape, meaning this buff is far more likely to maintain active even in the most brutal of battles. No doubt a giant Cave Bear charging into battle will have enemies shaking in their boots.

3 Tavern Brawler

Increase Strength While Wild Shaped

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (14)
  • Increases Strength or Constitution by one to a maximum of 20.

Tavern Brawler increases a Druid's Strength or Constitution score by one, but no higher than 20. This is great for a Druid in humanoid form but is a little wasted as this bonus is not applied to a Druid's Wild Shape form.

Baldur's Gate 3: 7 Best Druid Wild Shape Forms, Ranked

There are a lot of Druid Wild Shapes inBG3, but not all of them are powerful or useful – these five Wild Shape forms are the best options for Druids.

The second part of this feat is an absolute game changer because it allows Wild Shaped Druids to hit more often, and harder. This Feat adds a Druid's strength modifier twice to damage and attack rolls whilst making an unarmed attack. This is such a great bonus because most of a Druid's Wild Shape forms will be making claw or bite attacks, which are, of course, unarmed attacks. This means a Druid with this feat is going to hit way more reliably and dish out more damage.

2 Spell Sniper

Ideal For Any Casting Class

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (16)
  • Learn a Cantrip and reduce the roll needed for a Critical Hit is reduced by 1.

Spell Sniper is a versatile feat that can be used to fill the gaps in a non-caster build or augment an existing one. Druids are a combination class that can do some of everything, so they can use Spell Sniper to add yet another slot to their daily spellbook, plus the bonus to their Critical Hit chance also applies to their existing powers.

The Druid can choose from six different Cantrips, and the selection is wide enough to compliment melee fighters, DPS casters, or healers that need some extra offense. Some of these spells might be in the Druid's repertoire already, so they can always get something like Eldritch Blast or Bone Chill to diversify.

1 Resilient

Improve Concentration Even While Wild Shaped

Best Feats For Druids In Baldur's Gate 3 (17)
  • Allows a Druid to increase any ability by one, and gain proficiency in Saving Throws for that ability.

Resilient is a great feat that grants a fantastic boon both in and out of Wild Shape. If a Druid takes this feat, be sure to get that +1 bonus in Constitution. By default, a Druid will be proficient in Wisdom and Intelligence saving throws, so getting proficiency in Constitution saving throws will provide a hefty +4 bonus by level 12.

This is great no matter what situation a Druid will find themselves in, as some of the most powerful spells available to Druids do require concentration, allowing them to get the most out of their precious spell slots. Meanwhile, it will provide a nice bonus to HP whilst not Wild Shaped, and allow concentration to be maintained even when hit with a barrage of attacks.
